Material formations 2008 - 2020
Studies in accumulation, surface, gravity, and material becoming
This series examines how materials behave when pushed to their limits—layered, compressed, fractured, or suspended by gravity. Surface becomes a site of geological and bodily formation, where matter records the pressures that brought it into being. These works function as research into the conditions under which painting emerges, asking how material itself can think, breathe, and transform.
